About the Festival

Razmena” is an International student short film festival founded by The Academy of Arts in Novi Sad.
The initiative to establish the festival was started by four second-year students of production for audiovisual media.
The name “Razmena (eng.”Exchange”) represents the motivation for realizing the festival which came from the need
for connecting with students of other academies and art faculties from the entire world
who are also involved in film. The desire to learn about the work of our colleagues
and young filmmakers is the basis idea of the concept of the festival.

Lyubava Yarovaya is a film director who explores complex human relationships through cinema, frequently using self-irony to reflect on emotional confusion and disconnection. Her work focuses on characters who struggle to understand themselves yet continue striving to live, often losing their boundaries, becoming entangled, and unintentionally damaging their own lives. Yarovaya began her directing career at the age of 16, when her debut short film Mamka received the Best Short Film award at the REC Festival. She graduated from the Moscow School of Cinema in 2023. Her diploma film, Babki, has been selected for over 25 international film festivals, including GorkyFest, Chain NYC Film Festival, and Cortisonici. The film has garnered multiple accolades, notably Best Short Film at the Pigeon Laughs SCFF 2024 and Best Direction at the 2024 Razmena Film Festival. In addition to her independent filmmaking, she is a co-founder of the production company CLIPSTER, where she directs music videos and commercial projects. Currently, Yarovaya is developing an original series project that continues to explore these thematic directions.

With twenty years of experience in computer graphics, she has contributed to the production of over fifty promotional films and projects involving computer-generated imagery (selected client list: Dolce & Gabbana, Google, etc.). As part of visual effects teams, she has worked on sixteen feature films, documentaries, and TV series. Additionally, she has participated in the realization of theater plays, exhibited at collective exhibitions, and collaborated with numerous cultural institutions.

She has directed three short animated films that received awards at international festivals and has served as a jury member at several international film festivals. She has conducted multiple animation workshops for youth; notably, the “Izbanimaonica” workshop in 2014, where she co-created the animated film “Seesaw” (Klackalica) with participants, which won the Best Animated Film award at the See a Paris 2015 festival in Paris, France.

Isidora Popović is a student at the Faculty of Dramatic Arts, majoring in Visual Effects, Animation, and Game Art. Prior to enrolling at the Faculty of Dramatic Arts, she studied Animation in Engineering at the Faculty of Technical Sciences. Although her love for animation began at an early age, university provided her with the opportunity to explore various other aspects of computer graphics. While she considers herself a generalist, Isidora believes that animation will always remain one of the most beautiful and purest forms of creativity.
